Old Business

Chair Harris reminded the Committee that based on the previous recommendation of the Committee the 2012 Professional Development Seminar (PDS) would be a No-Host event held in Portland, Maine.

**During the Business Luncheon held on Thursday, August 11, 2011, ASLCS President Rob Marchant informed society members that as a result of issues with the hotel that had been chosen, the 2012 PDS would not be able to be held in Portland. He also stated that the Executive Committee was looking at Albany, NY and Savannah, GA as possible alternative sites for the meeting.**
Chair Harris reminded the Committee that the 2011 PDS would be September 28 – October 2, 2011, in Branson, MO. He also reminded the Committee that the 2011 Joint Canadian-American meeting would be held October 13-17 in Montgomery, AL. He encouraged as many Principals and designees as possible to attend.

New Business

Chair Harris stated that a formal offer had been received from California to host the 2013 PDS in Sacramento. Paula Rossetto (CA) said that she wanted to thank ASLCS President Rob Marchant for sending a letter to the leadership in the California House and Senate, which she said had been extremely helpful in getting their support to host the meeting. She also said that the meeting will likely be held in October of 2013. Denise Weeks (NC) moved that the Committee accept the offer from California to host the 2013 PDS in Sacramento and present the choice to the Executive Committee for approval. The motion was seconded by Nathan Hatfield (VA) and was agreed to by the Committee.

There being no more business, on motion of Russell Humphries (TN) and seconded by Alan Wittington (TN), the meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,
Emily Howard (VA), Recorder
