RE:            ASLCS Committee Assignments 2010-2011

This year's 44th annual Professional Development Seminar of the American Society of Legislative Clerks and Secretaries will convene on September 8, 2010, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Each year prior to the annual Professional Development Seminar, ASLCS members have an opportunitiy to choose on which standing committees they would like to serve during the following year.

Most of the work of the American Society of Legislative Clerks and Secretaries is done by its standing committees.  The committees are divided into three categories-A, B, and C-for scheduling purposes. For your information, you can review the descriptions of the 12 standing committees here.

It is now time to make your committee selections for 2010-2011. Please complete the committee selection form and return it to me by July 16, 2010, or use the online form located on the ASLCS website. The link to the ASLCS Committee Questionnaire is: http://ecom.ncsl.org/surveys/TakeSurvey.asp?PageNumber=1&SurveyID=6KH594L3496KG If you experience difficulties selecting online, please contact Angela Andrews at (303) 856-1349 or angela.andrews@ncsl.org. Even though you may not be able to travel in the upcoming year, please make committee selections so that you can remain involved with ASLCS. Committee chairs will be encouraged to communicate with all members of their committees in the decision-making process via e-mail or phone contact.

It is my intention to reappoint the Chairs, Co-Chairs and members of the Inside the Legislative Process, Canadian-American Relations, Professional Journal and Roster committees. However, if you are not currently serving on any of these committees, but have an interest in doing so, please indicate your interest on your committee questionnaire.

I also would appreciate knowing if you are interested in being a committee chair, vice chair or associate vice chair.

Please complete and return your committee selection form, either online, by mail or by fax, by July 16, 2010. If you have any questions, please call me. My address, phone, fax and email are:
