Explanation of Categories
Below are the topic categories with a brief listing of examples from each category. If the topic of the report does not fit into any of the subject matter categories, it may be listed under “Miscellaneous.” For example, a report on the State Board of Certified Public Accountants would be listed under “Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure” and “Financial Services, Business and Commerce.” A report on the effectiveness of preschool programs for low-income children would be listed under “Education pre K-12” and “Human Services.”
- Agriculture and Rural Development: rural communities; food safety; farming.
- Civil, Criminal Justice and Judiciary: corrections and sentencing; DNA and forensics; juvenile justice; pretrial release; courts; intervention programs including prison industries.

Each report citation includes the report's title, release date, publication number (if used), audit office name and a link to the office. Links to individual reports are not provided; to access a full report, visit the office's website.
