ASLCS Event LogoOverview

The American Society of Legislative Clerks and Secretaries (ASLCS) is hosting its annual professional development seminar for principal clerks and secretaries and their staffs from Sept. 29 to Oct. 3 in Manchester, N.H.

The meeting brings together U.S. and international participants to learn important skills and procedures, build relationships and take away new tools and ideas to enhance the effectiveness of state legislatures.

The theme is Maintaining Legislative Decorum and Mental Health in a Disruptive Environment.

Former track and field star Charles Clark will deliver this year’s keynote on motivation, resilience and a healthy mindset. Also on the agenda are sessions on parliamentary procedure, chamber security and decorum, and artificial intelligence; breakout sessions for principals and associates; the Legislative Expo; and meetings of the standing committees and special committees. In addition, our hosts are planning an array of social events to allow attendees to network with their counterparts from other states while experiencing the best of autumn in New England.
