2024 National Caucus of Native American State Legislators Annual Meeting

The annual meeting offers a forum for American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian state legislators to learn, share and encourage awareness of state-tribal efforts.

This year's meeting will take place in Minneapolis, Minnesota from September 26-28.

Schedule Overview:

Thursday, Sept. 26 – Travel & Welcome Reception 

  • 5 p.m. - Welcome  Reception at Hyatt Centric 

Friday, Sept. 27 – NCNASL Annual Meeting & Site Visit (approx. 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.) 

  • 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Policy Sessions

  • 2 p.m. - Site Visit

  • 4 p.m. - Event at the Minneapolis American Indian Center 

Saturday, Sept. 28

  • 8 a.m. – Noon: Policy Sessions, Legislative Exchange, Priorities for 2025 

  • Noon – 2 p.m.: Business Meeting  (Members Only) 

  • After 2 p.m.: Travel Home

Hyatt Centric Downtown Minneapolis

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hyatt Centric Minneapolis. You will receive confirmation from the hotel by mid-September with the email you used to register for the Native Caucus meeting.

  • Contact Martha Saenz before September 10 with room requests or questions.

Cancellations

  • Cancel at least 72 hours before arrival to avoid a charge of one night's room fee plus taxes. Late cancellation fees, no-show fees, and early departure fees are not reimbursable if you are receiving travel funding.

Ground Travel

All attendees are responsible for arranging transportation to and from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport approximately 13 miles from the Hyatt Centric Minneapolis Downtown.

  • Use NCSL-provided Uber vouchers or retain taxi/rideshare receipts for reimbursement. More information will be provided in the Know Before You Go Email one week prior to the meeting.

You are also welcome to take the Light Rail Transit which goes directly from the airport to downtown.
