FY 2021 State Budget Status

As of July 1, 42 states had enacted budgets for FY 2021. Sixteen of those states enacted a biennial budget during their 2019 legislative session. Due to impacts of COVID-19 on state fiscal circumstances, 5 states have temporary spending plans in place, and New Jersey has extended their fiscal year through September 30.
