Veteran Homelessness

Since the beginning of the 2019-2020 legislative sessions, state legislatures have introduced 79 bills that directly relate to the homelessness of veterans, such as home loans, rental protections and adapted housing.



Voting Outside the Polling Place

Most states offer at least one method for any eligible voter to cast a ballot before election day. While some states provide early in-person voting, this webpage addresses absentee voting and all-mail voting. Check out the recently added information.


FY 2021 State Budget Status

As of May 20, 32 states have enacted budgets for FY 2021. Sixteen of those states enacted a biennial budget during their 2019 legislative session. As COVID-19 has impacted state fiscal situations, some states have adopted measures to prevent a shutdown if there were no budget in place by the start of the new fiscal year. These include the adoption of base budgets and continuing resolutions.
