Do you know how many elections-related bills were enacted in 2019?

  • That would be 367—the most since 2011.

  • Voter registration, pre-Election Day voting, vote-by-mail and election security. Find more details about 2019’s election administration trends here.

How can you stay up-to-date on election news?

  • Subscribe to The Canvass, the NCSL election administration newsletter!

The Canvass is a monthly newsletter that provides essential elections information to legislators, election administrators and interested members of the public.

Each issue includes an article on a pressing election matter—some recent topics include the Electoral College, presidential primaries and cybersecurity—as well as interviews with legislators, election news highlights and more.

In our current issue, we provide a roundup of 2019’s legislative action on elections. The newest Canvass also includes an interview with New Jersey Senator James Beach (D) and a short review of how states are making absentee voting accessible to blind and visually impaired voters.
