The NCSL Blog

Roads and bridges are crumbling, citizens are grumbling and Congress is stumbling. Look into the most promising ideas and solutions that can put you in the fast lane.

NCSL’s Transportation Program has launched a new Transportation Funding Deep Dive web page, which provides in-depth information about emerging ideas for legislators facing transportation funding shortfalls. This fresh new web page will provide an up-to-date and high-level picture of where states are today in terms of transportation funding and what approaches are being explored to solve the problem.

Visitors to the page will find resources pertaining to motor fuel taxes, variable-rate gas taxes, road-use charges, electric vehicle fees, taxes on alternative fuels and non-revenue based approaches to alleviate the infrastructure crisis.

Check back often to see the website’s Dashboard and What’s New sections, which will highlight new resources and research from NCSL and other organizations.

Kevin Pula is a policy specialist in NCSL’s Transportation Program.
