Legislatures across the country are recognizing this week as National School Choice Week, recognizing the right of parents to select a school that best meets the needs of their child.

School choice encompasses a wide range of state policies including public forms of choice like charter schools, magnet schools and open enrollment as well as private choice programs like school vouchers and scholarship tax credits.

NCSL is the go-to resource for information on school choice research and legislative activity. No one covers the issue in such a comprehensive and balanced way. Listed are the various web resources NCSL has developed on school choice. Find answers to all your school choice questions below or by contacting NCSL’s school choice expert, Josh Cunningham.
