Farm Bill 2007
The Farm Bill is scheduled for reauthorization in 2007. This legislation contains authority for the Food Stamp Program, and can affect commodity distribution programs such as TEFAP and CSFP. In addition, many of the child nutrition program receive commodity foods and can be impacted by this legislation.
The USDA is currently preparing for the 2007 reauthorization. They have held a series of "Farm Bill Forums" around the country to get public input on legislative priorities. The Food and Nutrition Service of the USDA has also held a number of Forums that have focused specifically on the nutrition programs. The USDA is also seeking public comment on a number of farm policy related issues.
This webpage contains updated information related to Farm Bill reauthorization. You will be able to access information about USDA Farm Bill Forums, testimony presented at these Forums, and information on submitting comments to the USDA.
