Unclaimed Stimulus Payments in Your State!

The Internal Revenue Services is trying to spread the word…"Don’t let Stimulus Payment Pass You By!"   October 15, 2008 is the deadline to file a 2007 tax return to receive an economic stimulus payment.   According to the IRS, approximately 4.3 million retirees and disabled veterans who may be eligible to receive a stimulus check have not filed a return, a requirement for receiving the payment.  According to some sources, this leaves over a billion dollars in unclaimed payments; funds that could be spent in your communities.

For your convenience attached to this email is a:

  • Legislators and Legislative Staff Only: Database which will allow you to see the number of unclaimed stimulus payments in your community or state (as of Sept. 7, 2008). *You will need to use your NCSL log-in and password to access the database. [Note: The database is a downloadable compressed zip file (3400 KB)]
