Thomas Hardy
Thomas R. Hardy is Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to the Director at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). As a member of Acting Director Leocadia I Zak’s senior management team, Mr. Hardy oversees the agency’s dedicated staff in advancing USTDA’s commercially oriented foreign assistance program. Prior to this, Mr. Hardy served as Special Assistant to the Director and Country Manager for China, managing USTDA’s largest portfolio, and before that, he was a Country Manager for Africa.
Prior to joining USTDA, Mr. Hardy served as an advisor to former USTDA Director, Thelma J. Askey at the U.S. International Trade Commission.
After completing his undergraduate work at California State Polytechnic University at San Luis Obispo, Mr. Hardy worked at the Trade Subcommittee of the Committee on Ways and Means in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he assisted in the development of trade legislation.
