Fair Credit Reporting Act The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) since 1996 has provided an important tool to ensure accurate and complete credit reports, but the federal law also preempts state authority to impose different standards and restrict information sharing among affiliates. With the preemption set to expire at the end of 2003, this session explores FCRA reauthorization. |
