FALL FORUM
Through NCSL's 15 Standing Committees, lawmakers and staff will address the critical issues on legislative agendas, discuss important federal legislation that affects states with members of Congress and the administration, and hear experts speak on ideas and solutions to difficult problems.
SPECIAL SEMINARS FOR POLICY LEADERS
Join committee chairs, key members and staff of fiscal, health and transportation committees to share ideas and hear from the experts. The Fiscal Leaders Seminar will discuss recent budgeting strategies, state tax reform efforts, the economic outlook and solutions to state fiscal problems. The Transportation Leaders Seminar will explore critical issues, including financing, TEA-21 reauthorization, traffic safety, teen licensing and commercial vehicle safety.
The Health Leaders Seminar, meeting at the Washington Court Hotel, will examine timely public health issues and successful approaches to containing rising health costs, improving access to quality care and managing long-term care.
ANCILLARY GROUPS
Ancillary groups will meet on Friday afternoon, December 12 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and on Saturday, December 13 from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm at the Hyatt Regency. For more information, check the master agenda for those days.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME
If you're a legislator or legislative staff and have been appointed to one of the new Standing Committees, or are simply interested in these state and federal issues, you are welcome to participate in this meeting. Presiding officers and staff directors have made appointments to the standing committees. Check with them if you are interested in serving on a committee or interested in attending this meeting.
REGISTRATION
There are three ways to register for the fall forum: Online registration on the Internet; the PDF registration form that may be mailed to NCSL Registration, PO Box 17972, Denver, Colorado 80217 or faxed to (303) 364-7811. Please note there are fees for each of the special seminars or fees for the combined fall forum and special seminars. The registration fee is payable in advance to the National Conference of State Legislatures or at registration. The deadline for pre-registration is November 27, 2003. There are no on-site substitutions.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
All cancellations must be made in writing and can be faxed to (303) 364-7811. Cancellations received in the NCSL Denver office by December 8, 2003 will be refunded minus a $50 processing fee. Fees cannot be refunded for registrations cancelled after the conference begins.

Please call the hotel directly to make reservations. Indicate that you are attending the "NCSL Conference" to receive the special room rate. Reservations must be held by one night's room deposit (a major credit card guarantee). NCSL is not responsible for guarantees. The deadline for making hotel reservations is November 10, 2003. After that date, room requests will be accepted on a space-available basis at the conference rate. Please notify Heather Plush at 303-364-7700 for any special accommodations you may require.
