"MEDICAL DEBT SCORES" - SHOULD PROVIDERS HAVE ACCESS?
A Minnesota bill (that was ultimately vetoed) would have forbidden companies from adding up patients' medical debt and then providing that information to physicians and others. Proponents of these "debt scores" say physicians deserve to know whether and how much their patients can pay, but opponents say the scores would influence the kind and amount of care that is provided.
