2013 Prevailing Wage Legislation

Construction WorkThirty-one states considered legislation related to prevailing wage during the 2013 legislative session, with a total of 288 bills introduced. Eleven state legislatures passed laws. Of those, 27 bills in 10 states were signed into law, while six bills were vetoed.

Enactments included expansion of record-keeping requirements, use of design/build or construction manager/general contractor project delivery methods, penalties for prevailing wage violations, and changes to bidding processes for public works projects.

CA A 76 - Assembly Budget Committee

IL H 3223 - Beiser (D)

Maine

ME H 762 - DeChant (D)
This bill would have allowed contractors on public works projects to allocate wages and benefits in any proportion as long as the amount, in total, met the minimum hourly prevailing wage. 07/08/2013 Vetoed by Governor.

MD H 1098 - Olszewski (D)

NV A 281 - Hogan (D)
