2018 Early Learning Fellows Webinar Series

These free webinars are open to all legislators and staff, but are specifically designed for our 2018 NCSL Early Learning Fellows. The webinars are designed to be informative, interactive and address specific early childhood policy issues of interest to legislators. Webinars are geared for new and experienced members.

NCSL webinars allow attendees to participate in meetings taking place around the world from the comfort of their desk. They are collaborative, interactive and easy to use. Most webinars will be recorded for those who are unable to attend the live meeting.

Suspension and expulsion for very young children are stressful and negative experiences that can impact child outcomes. This webinar will provide a review of what we know from the research on and dimensions of early childhood expulsions and suspensions and the potential role of state policy and supports. The webinar will include legislative examples and comments from state policymakers that were involved with their state’s legislative approach.
