The Affordable Care Act (ACA) is expected to provide health insurance to millions of newly-insured Americans through Medicaid expansion and/or the Health Benefit Exchanges (commonly referred to as health insurance marketplaces). In 2014, the Congressional Budget Office estimates that 6 million individuals will enroll in exchanges, and the number is expected to increase to 24-25 million starting in 2017.  Medicaid  enrollment is also expected to increase by 8 million in 2014 and by 12-13 million people every year between 2015 and 2024- than would have been the case in the absence of the ACA Effective outreach and enrollment efforts will be key to ensuring that new coverage opportunities translate into increased coverage. States are adopting a wide array of outreach and enrollment strategies to facilitate enrollment and minimize barriers to maximize enrollment.

This webinar will describe requirements for health exchanges, summarize outreach and enrollment efforts across the country, and highlight lessons learned about effective outreach and enrollment approaches.
