50 State Chart: Financial Disclosure Forms, E-filing and Online Accessibility

12/5/2013

Increasingly, states are making financial disclosure information available online—be it blank forms for filers or completed forms for an interested public. Thirty-nine states and the District of Columbia make blank or sample forms accessible online for legislators. Legislators in 22 states can file using an online database. In at least 29 states, the public can access completed legislator financial disclosure forms online. This 50 state chart details which states make blank forms available online, which allow e-filing, which make completed forms available online, and the number of years that records are retained online, if at all.
