Most ARRA funds must be spent within the next three years.

When the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) became law on Feb. 17, 2009, $30.7 billion became available for energy efficiency, renewable energy, upgrades to electricity transmission, carbon capture and storage, and advanced energy research.  The clock is ticking; most of these funds must be spent in the next three years.
