OVERVIEW | LEGISLATIVE STAFF

NCSL is an organization of both legislators and legislative staff. As one of the nation’s 33,000 legislative staff, you are automatically a member of NCSL. Legislative staff play a key role in NCSL’s governance. Three of the seven overall NCSL officers are legislative staff, and 20 legislative staff serve on the Executive Committee. The Legislative Staff Coordinating Committee, consisting of staff section officers and staff from the NCSL Executive Committee, guides NCSL’s services to legislative staff. In addition, legislative staff serve as officers and members of NCSL's standing committees. There are many ways for legislative staff to be involved with NCSL and NCSL is committed to providing outstanding services to legislative staff.
