Your Ideas Count! That's the message lawmakers will bring to students across the country when they visit classrooms during America's Legislators Back to School Week. This event gives elected officials in all 50 states the opportunity to meet personally with their young constituents and to answer questions, share ideas, listen to concerns and impart a greater understanding of the legislative processes necessary for developing effective public policy. |
How to Get Involved It's easy to participate and share ideas with America's youth--tomorrow's voters. Contact your state legislative coordinator listed on the NCSL Civic Education Web site at http://www.ncsl.org/public/trust/contacts_bsw.htm or, let us know you'd like to participate in America's Legislators Back to School Week, and we'll assist you from there. |
"I believe that improving citizens' understanding is critical to building trust and confidence in government, and that as a state representative, I have a profound responsibility to promote our form of government and to present it in a way young people can understand." Representative Frederick C. Brummer, Florida
