Iraq Budget Positions Office of the Treasury Attaché Baghdad (International Green Zone)
Salary: $114,468 to $158,500 (depending on the position being filled, qualifications and salary history)
The United States Treasury is competitively recruiting a team of budget, financial, and legislative technical advisors and analysts to support its ongoing efforts in Iraq. The technical assistance team will work in the Office of the Treasury Attaché in Baghdad and live in the International (Green) Zone.
- The Legislative Budget Advisor will provide ongoing, advice, training and support to members and staff of the Financial Committee (FC) of the Council of Representatives of Iraq (COR). This position will help the FC develop its capacity and institutional role in an emerging parliamentary system. This advisor works in close collaboration with United States Government (USG) and other international donor personnel.
- The Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) Support Advisor will provide ongoing training and support to personnel in the 25 PRTs on Iraqi budget formulation and budget execution. The position will be the point of contact within the US Treasury Attaché’s Office for PRT personnel during their deployment in Iraq.
- The Financial Analyst will provide ongoing support to the Treasury Attaché’s Office for analysis of Iraqi budget execution and other analysis as assigned. The position is the liaison with the Multi-National Force-Iraq. It serves as the technical expert for meetings and conference calls with the US Treasury in Washington, DC, the US Embassy in Baghdad, the Iraq Policy and Operations Group, and the Multi-National Force-Iraq.
Qualifications
Applicants for the Legislative Budget Advisor should have experience as a financial committee staff professional familiar with budget review and enactment processes. A degree in Business, Accounting Finance, Public Administration, Law, or related field is preferred
Applicants for the PRT Support Advisor and the Financial Analyst should have experience in Federal, state or local government budgeting or financial analysis. A degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or related field is preferred.
Applicants should have strong analytical and communication skills and be able to work as a part of a team or individually with minimum guidance to achieve organizational goals. Applicants should be able to work long hours in an intense environment. Experience in Iraq or a conflict or post-conflict country, as well as the ability to speak and read Arabic language are desirable. Applicants must be U.S. citizen and be able to obtain a security clearance.

Salary and Benefits
The contract salary range is $114,468 to $158,500 (depending on the position being filled, qualifications and salary history) and overseas benefits are provided at the rate of 35% for hardship pay and 35% for danger pay. Room and board are provided.
