UAE Study Tour to NCSL Spring Forum and Dover, Delaware - April 2006

In April 2006 NCSL hosted a delegation from the National Consultative Council of Abu Dhabi at its Annual Spring Forum in Washington D.C. and at the Delaware State Legislature. NCSL was honored to have the presence of Council Member Ghaith bin Hamel al-Ghaith and council staff as Spring Forum participants. The delegation from the United Arab Emirates attended sessions at the Spring Forum, met with Senate Foreign Relations Committee staff, and met one-on-one with NCSL legislative experts on civil society and elections and redistricting during the four-day visit to the U.S. capital.

In Dover, Delaware the delegation met with members and staff from the House of Representatives, were introduced on the house floor by NCSL vice-president Donna Stone, and toured the legislature. Of particular interest were presentations on bill drafting and legislative administration.

This is the second activity NCSL has conducted with the National Consultative Council.
