Requires that bills notify customers that service includes 911 service, explain the enhanced wireless 911 system, and contain a progress report on the county-by-county implementation of the statewide 911 system.

Prohibits the release of a personal wireless number without the subscriber's knowingly provided, express, opt-in consent unless the number is released to a law enforcement agency, fire protection agency, public health agency, public environmental health agency, city or county emergency services planning agency, or private for-profit corporation operating under contract with, and at the direction of, one or more of these agencies, for the exclusive purpose of responding to a 911 call or communicating an imminent threat to life or property.

 


Wisconsin

WI S.B. 442
Assembly failed to concur - 03/21/2008.
Prohibits anyone who is operating a school bus or transporting pupils in another vehicle from using a cellular telephone or other wireless telecommunications device while driving or while loading or unloading passengers.  Allows the use of a cellular telephone or a wireless telecommunications device capable of real-time voice communications if is used to make a 911 call or communicate with emergency responders or service providers about an emergency situation.
