How to Create Personal Agenda
LOG IN.
Legislators and legislative staff and FSL Sponsors: The personal agendas you create can be saved and shared with others as a web pagelink on the NCSL site, but you must login. If you don't login, you can create an agenda like all other users, but it will not be saved on the system and therefore will not be dynamically updated. Legislators and legislative staff: You also can include personal meetings in your agenda if you are logged in -- then any schedule items you enter in MyCalendar (in MyNCSL) for December 7 through December 21 can be included in your personal Annual Meeting agenda.
Log in now.
- To create a personal or custom agenda, select the kinds of sessions you want
on the agenda using the search form. You can use the "Search Agenda" button
to verify that the search is retrieving most of the sessions you want on the
agenda. Click the browser's "Back" button to return to the search form.
- Then use the "Create Personal Agenda" button for the next step, which is
refining the agenda selections. When you click the "create" button, the next screen lists ALL the sessions with
checkboxes next to their titles. The sessions you selected with your search will have their box checked. All plenary sessions also are automatically selected.
- Enter the name for this custom agenda. Legislators and legislative staff and FSL sponsors: You also may assign a password to the agenda. Assigning a password requires other users to know that password in order to access the agenda. Leave the password blank to enable anyone to access the agenda.
- Legislators and Legislative Staff: Decide whether to include your own MyCalendar items in the agenda. If you want to include MyCalendar entries, select the checkbox and then set whether only you can see those particular items. All MyCalendar events entered for December 7 through December 21 then will be included in your Annual Meeting personal agenda. If you select "public" for MyCalendar items, anyone who can access your personal agenda will see those items as well. MyCalendar is a feature of your MyNCSL page.
- Next, scroll down the page to review the session selections. To add a session, check the corresponding box. To remove a session, uncheck the box.
- You can then use the "Preview Personal Agenda" to review your revised selections--uncheck any remaining sessions
that you don't want on this agenda; but to add sessions, you must click the browser's "Back" button to return to the previous page where all the sessions are listed.
- Once you have the sessions you want, click the "Create Personal Agenda" button.
- At this point you can print the agenda from the Web. Legislators and legislative staff: if you logged in at the start, your personal agenda is automatically saved as a page link on your personal MyNCSL page, where it is readily available to you. You can
then copy the agenda's link from the MyNCSL page and share it with anyone you want. You also can edit the agenda using the "Edit Agenda" link at the top of your saved agenda. To copy the link, right-click on the link in MyNCSL and choose the "copy shortcut" option. Alternatively, go to the agenda and copy the URL for the location window of your browser.
