Most predictive genetic testing for at-risk children or adolescents occurs in individual medical care settings.  Many state legislatures have enacted laws to protect individuals from potential harm such as insurance discrimination based on genetic information.  However, some ethical, legal and psychosocial issues related to genetic testing of minors remain unresolved.
