James Sabourin biography
Jim Sabourin joined America West Airlines in July 2000 as vice president, corporate communications. In this capacity, his responsibilities include overseeing the company's media relations and employee communications.
Prior to joining America West, Sabourin served for eight years as general director of corporate relations for Fort Worth, Texas-based Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation, one of the largest rail transportation providers in North America. Sabourin began his career with information technology services leader EDS Corporation, where he held a number of positions over an eight-year period, most recently manager of public relations. He jointed BNSF in 1992.
Sabourin received a bachelor of science degree in journalism and public relations from Florida State University in 1983. He is accredited in public relations (APR) by the Public Relations Society of America.
