Republicans, Democrats Discuss 'Broken' Presidential Primary Process
Party leaders will meet for the first time to find a better way to select a nominee
NEW ORLEANS - Critics contend the presidential primary process starts too early and takes too long.
David Norcross, rules chair of the Republican National Committee, and James Roosevelt, co-chair of the rule committee for the Democratic National Committee, will share the stage for the first time since the end of the primary season at the National Conference of State Legislatures' Legislative Summit in New Orleans.
During this session, party leaders will attempt to resolve primary calendar issues and come up with a solution for the 2012 presidential primary. Norcross and Roosevelt will be available for media interviews from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., Friday, July 25, in the press conference room of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in room 213.
The issue forum with Norcross and Roosevelt is at 2 p.m., Friday, July 25, in the Jefferson Ballroom at the Hilton Riverside in New Orleans.
