Press Registration Open for NCSL's Legislative Summit in New Orleans
This conference is free for credentialed members of the media
DENVER - For four days this summer, state lawmakers and members of the media will have access to at least 150 of the most in-depth policy sessions across the country.
The National Conference of State Legislatures 2008 Legislative Summit--a meeting of ideas, solutions, innovations and connections--will be at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans July 22-26.
During the week, reporters will have the opportunity to attend issue forums that examine the most important concerns facing state legislators from across the country. NCSL's meeting gives legislators the opportunity to work together with colleagues from other states on American's greatest challenges in a bipartisan atmosphere.
Policy sessions at NCSL's 2008 Legislative Summit will cover the evergreen issues such as state budget conditions, education and transportation. This year we'll look deeper into:
-
The November election
-
Affordable health care
-
Dealing with drought and the opportunities for innovation
-
Real ID: Is it REALly moving or REALly stalled?
-
State strategies for soldiers returning home from active duty.
