Journalists wishing to attend any aspect of NCSL's Annual Meeting
must present their credentials at NCSL's Press Room or main
registration area. An NCSL-issued badge must be worn at all
times in order to gain admittance to NCSL-sponsored
events. |
Press Room |
|
The NCSL Public Affairs staff will provide an onsite Press Room
for the convenience of journalists covering this year's Annual
Meeting. The Press Room will be located on Level One of the
Salt Palace Convention Center in room 150-DEF. Hours of
operation will be:
- Monday, July 19
1 - 6 p.m.
- Tuesday, July 20
8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- Wednesday, July 21
8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- Thursday, July 22
8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- Friday, July 23
8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
The Press Room will provide the following amenities:
- Computers and printers;
- High-speed internet access;
- Data lines for dial-up access to intranets;
- Power sources for laptops, cell phone chargers and other
electronic equipment;
- Coffee, sodas and snacks; and
- Separate press conference room.

The release of several reports of national significance are
planned during the week of Annual Meeting. All press
conferences will be held in NCSL's Press Conference Room across the
hall from the Press Room. Tentatively planned reports
include:
- State Budget and Tax Actions: 12 p.m. Tuesday, July 20
- Top 10 Elections Battleground States: 11:45 a.m., Wednesday,
July 21
Several press availabilities are also scheduled, including:
New Health Reports: Thursday, July 22, 10:45 a.m. NCSL’s
Dick Cauchi and other experts will be on hand to discuss new
national reports on health savings accounts, Medicare adjustment
legislation and state bills dealing with Canadian prescriptions.
