NCSL 2003 Annual Meeting & Exhibition

Registration
Journalists wishing to attend any aspect of NCSL's Annual Meeting must present their credentials at NCSL's Press Room or main registration area. An NCSL-issued badge must be worn at all times in order to gain admittance to NCSL-sponsored events.
Press Room
The NCSL Public Affairs staff will provide an onsite Press Room for the convenience of journalists covering this year's Annual Meeting. The Press Room will be located on the Exhibit Level of the Moscone Center in room 111. Hours of operation will be:
- Monday, July 21
1 - 6 p.m.
- Tuesday, July 22
8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- Wednesday, July 23
8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- Thursday, July 24
8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- Friday, July 25
8 a.m. - 2 p.m.
The Press Room will provide the following amenities:
- Computers and printers;
- High-speed internet access;
- Phones (local, toll-free and credit card calls only);
- Power sources for laptop plug-ins;
- Separate press conference room;
- Coffee, sodas and snacks; and
- Access to NCSL legislators database (for reference purposes only).
During the week of the meeting, the NCSL Public Affairs staff will be happy to pass along messages to journalists in attendance. The phone number in the Press Room will be 415-905-1020. Keep in mind that the phone is not equipped with voicemail, so please be sure to call during business hours (PDT).
Media Events
The release of several reports of national significance are planned during the week of Annual Meeting. All press conferences will be held in NCSL's Press Conference Room adjacent to the Press Room in the Moscone Center. The tentative schedule for the release of reports is as follows:
- Homeland Security Spending: Tuesday, July 22 at 10 a.m.
- State Budget Update: Wednesday, July 23 at 10 a.m.
- Streamlined Sales Tax Update and System Demonstration: Thursday, July 24 at 10 a.m.
- State Actions on Medicaid Services: Thursday, July 24 at 12:30 p.m.
