Colo. Rev. Stat. §33-6-121

Hunters are required to wear daylight fluorescent orange garments.

Delaware

Del. Code Ann. tit. 7, §718

Requires hunters to wear hunter orange while hunting deer.

Georgia

Ga. Code Ann. §27-3-25

Requires all bear hunters and any person accompanying a bear hunter to wear a minimum of 500 square inches of daylight fluorescent orange material as an outer garment during firearms and primitive weapons seasons.

 

Ga. Code Ann. §27-3-40

Requires all deer hunters and any person accompanying a deer hunter to wear at least 500 square inches of daylight fluorescent orange material as an outer garment during firearms season.

Indiana

Ind. Code Ann. §14-22-38-7

Requires hunters, during firearms season, to wear hunter orange on a vest, coat, jacket, coveralls, hat or cap.

Iowa

Iowa Code Ann. §481A.122

Requires all persons hunting deer with a firearm to wear one or more of the following articles in solid blaze orange: vest, coat, jacket, sweatshirt, sweater, shirt or coveralls.

Louisiana

La. Rev. Stat. Ann. §56:143

Requires deer hunters, during the open gun deer hunting season, to display on his head, chest or back a minimum of 400 square inches of daylight fluorescent orange.

Maryland

Md. Natural Resources Code §10-418

Requires any person who hunts wildlife, or accompanies, aids or assists a hunter in the field to wear and display as an outer garment a cap, vest, jacket or any other outer garment above the waist that is daylight fluorescent orange color.

Massachusetts

Mass. Gen. Laws Ann.

ch. 131, §71

During the open, shotgun, deer hunting season, requires all persons to wear in a conspicuous manner on the chest, back and head clothing or material of a hunter orange color.

Michigan

Mich. Comp. Laws Ann.

§324.40116

During daylight established shooting hours, requires hunters to wear a cap, hat, vest, jacket or rain gear of the highly visible hunter orange color.

Minnesota

Minn. Stat. Ann. §97B.071

Requires all hunters and trappers, during the open firearm season, to wear a cap and outer clothing that is blaze orange.

Missouri

Mo. Ann. Stat. §252.041

Requires any person hunting deer during the firearm season to wear a cap or hat, and a shirt, vest or coat with the outermost color of daylight fluorescent orange, blaze orange or hunter orange.

Montana

Mont. Code Ann. §87-3-302

Requires big game hunters, and those accompanying any hunter as an outfitter or guide, to wear exterior garments above the waste that are hunter orange in color.

Nebraska

Neb. Rev. Stat. §37-527

Requires any person hunting deer, antelope, elk or mountain sheep during an authorized firearm season to display on the head, chest and back hunter orange material.

New Hampshire

N.H. Rev. Stat. Ann. §207:38-b

Recommends that any person hunting with a firearm or bow and arrow during the hunting season wear a hat, vest, or other suitable article of clothing of material in the color of hunter orange.

New Jersey

N.J. Stat. Ann. §23:4-13.1

Requires any person hunting deer, rabbit, hare, squirrel, fox, or game birds other than waterfowl with a firearm to wear a cap of fluorescent hunter's orange or some other outer garment containing fluorescent hunter's orange material.

North Carolina

N.C. Gen. Stat. §113-291.8

Requires any person hunting game animals other than foxes, bobcats, raccoons and opossums, or hunting upland game birds other than wild turkeys, with the use of firearms to wear a cap or hat made of hunter orange material or an outer garment of hunter orange.

North Dakota

N.D. Cent. Code §20.1-05-06

Requires big game hunters to wear daylight fluorescent orange clothing.

Tennessee

Tenn. Code Ann. §70-4-124

Requires any person hunting big game, other than turkey, during the gun hunts to wear outer garments of daylight fluorescent orange color.

Utah

Utah Code Ann. §23-20-31

Requires any person hunting big game to wear hunter orange material.

Virginia

Va. Code §29.1-530.1

Requires every hunter, or person accompanying a hunter during the firearms deer season, to wear a blaze orange hat or blaze orange upper body clothing.

Wisconsin

Wis. Stat. Ann. §29.301

In areas where there is a firearm deer hunting season, no person may hunt any game except waterfowl unless 50 percent of each article of the person's outer clothing is hunter orange, blaze orange, fluorescent orange, flame orange or fluorescent blaze orange.
