State-Level Wildlife Funding Initiatives
The Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies is the collective voice of North America’s fish and wildlife agencies. They have put together a collection of resources on what individual states are doing to fund conservation and game management of wildlife populations. Historically, states have heavily relied on funds derived from hunting and fishing licenses, as well as other sportsmen related expenditures, to drive agency budgets. Now, many states are increasingly turning to other methods of funding to ensure the proper management of wildlife and game.
