RACSS 2008 Election Results

Executive Committee Update

August 5, 2008

The 2008 slate of candidates was unanimously adopted at the RACSS Business Meeting, held in New Orleans during the NCSL Legislative Summit.  Vice-chair Phil Price automatically succeeded EM Miller, Jr., of Virginia, as chair of RACSS for 2008-2009, following the annual meeting.  EM remains on the RACSS Executive Committee as immediate past chair for the coming year.  Pepper Sturm of Nevada was elected as the new vice-chair and will automatically become chair for 2009-2010. 

Dan Chapman of Colorado, Bryant Howe of Utah and Walker Reagan of North Carolina were elected to two-year terms as directors on the RACSS Executive Committee.  They join current directors Marti Harkness of Florida, Mark Mitchell of Kentucky and John Rappa of Kentucky.

The 2008 Nominating Committee was comprised of chair Phil Price, immediate past RACSS chair Pat O'Grady of Illinois and Tanya Monsanto of Kentucky.  Under the RACSS Bylaws, the Nominating Committee is chaired by the current vice-chair, with the immediate past chair and a member-at-large serving on the committee.
