WEB-L Listserv

The WEB-L listserv has been established for legislative web managers, webmasters, and other legislative staff or legislators interested in legislative websites and web policies. While the National Association of Legislative Information Technology listserv has addressed a number of web issues in the past, a separate listserv was requested for the wide variety of staff involved in legislative, caucus, or committee websites. Examples of topics for discussion include web development and management issues, web policies and website offerings.

General Information 

The WEB-L listserv is an e-mail forum and information exchange legislative web managers, webmasters, and other legislative staff or legislators interested in legislative websites and web policies. WEB-L listserv subscribers post messages to the list that are then sent out (reflected) to all other subscribers to create an electronic discussion group.

Recent discussions on the WEB-L listserv have focused on legislative web pages and member lookup systems.

To Subscribe

To subscribe to the WEB-L Listserv, send an e-mail message to pam.greenberg@ncsl.org and identify yourself, your legislative affiliation and your phone number, requesting a subscription to WEB-L. You will receive an e-mail message confirming your subscription and describing how to post messages and unsubscribe (e.g., subscribers should unsubscribe if using an e-mail autoresponder while on vacation.)

Posting Messages

To post a message to the WEB-L Listserv, send an e-mail message to WEB-L@NCSL.ORG with your questions or comments about web issues (describe the message briefly in the subject field). Please include your name and contact information at the bottom of every message so others can contact you individually if they choose. Your message will be sent to all subscribers on the list.

Remember that replies to messages posted on the WEB-L listserv will also be sent (reflected) to all other subscribers. Please do not reply to the entire listserv if you are trying to respond only to the message author. To reply privately to the person who posted a message, send a new message to the sender's e-mail address rather than replying to the listserv message at WEB-L@ncsl.org.

To Unsubscribe

To be taken off the WEB-L listserv, send an email message to WEB-L-request@ncsl.org and in the body of the message put: unsubscribe.
