Implementing Linux and Windows 2000 in the Legislative Environment
The Main Event! In one corner: the upstart challenger, wearing a red hat, holder of the open source title belt - Linux! In the other corner: the new and improved champion (#5), wearing a blue visor, undisputed holder of the heavyweight moneybelt - Microsoft Windows 2000! Is the success and supremacy of Windows 2000 inevitable? Is it advisable? Is Linux truly a viable alternative? Is there a place for open source software in the legislature? Come to this session to get around the hype and the rhetoric and get the facts on both Linux and Windows 2000. Which should you choose? Why? And what will be the implications of that choice?

Speakers:
Tim Rice, Legislative Information System, Illinois
Sean Johnson, House of Representatives, Florida
