Salt Lake City Library Tour
The Main Library in Salt Lake City embodies the idea that a
library is more than a repository of books and computers - it
reflects and engages the city's imagination and aspirations. It
features a multi-level reading area, a roof-top garden, spiraling
fireplaces and natural light infused from all sides of the building.
Library materials now include not only books, but audiocassettes,
compact discs, videocassettes, DVDs, and CD-ROMs, in addition to
visual materials such as art prints and slides. It houses a small
but very interesting collection of old and rare materials. Come join
us discover this magnificent structure! Librarians may also want to
explore the City and County Building and Matheson Court House State
Law Library, which are in the same block. |

Utah Legislative Historical Society and New Archives
Building
Catch a sneak-peek of Utah’s new facility that houses its
historical archives, which was created to help state agencies and
local governments manage their records as well as to care for
government documents with historical value. The archives holds
records from Utah's earliest territorial days to current records
created by modern government agencies. Both state and local
government records, along with records of special districts, are
stored in the state archives. A tour of this new building and
innovative ASRS (automated storage and retrieval system) is not to
be missed! |

where U.S. athletes won 10 Olympic medals and eight world records

elections will shape all approaches to America's issues. Bill
Kristol, editor of the Weekly Standard, is well-known as a

legislators and legislative staff will want to participate in the
NCSL annual business meeting, the culmination of NCSL's year. All
other meeting participants are welcome to observe.
The business
meeting includes debates on the policy issues that will guide NCSL's
federal lobbying in the coming year, as well as elections for
officers and the executive committee, and approval of the NCSL
budget.
