Colorado H.B. 1364
Status: June 9, 2006; Session Law Chaptered. Chapter No. 229
Adds to the crime of violation of a protection order when using electronic means to discover the location of the protected person.

Georgia H.B. 338
Status: April 30, 2006; Act No. 520
Among other things,  prohibits computer assisted remote hunting.

Hawaii  H.B. 2535
Status: May 25, 2006; Act No. 141
Amends the offense of use of a computer in the commission of a separate crime by including use of a computer to obtain control over the property of the victim or to facilitate commission of the offense of theft in the first or second degrees.

Idaho H.B. 472
Status: March 24, 2006; Chaptered. Chapter No. 196
The penalty for possessing more than 10 packages of cigarettes without an state cigarette stamp is a civil penalty; provides the penalty applies to persons who purchase unstamped cigarettes from on-line retailers.

Louisiana S.B. 641

Criminalizes creating a Web page that is represented as a legitimate online business without the authorization of the registered owner of the business, and using that Web page to induce, request, or solicit another person to provide identifying information for a purpose that the other person believes is legitimate.

Michigan S.B. 1024
Status:  March 21, 2006; Public Act No. 60
Provides that a person shall not willfully and maliciously cut, break, disconnect, interrupt, tap, or make any unauthorized connection with any electronic medium of communication, including the Internet or a computer, computer program, computer system, or computer network or telephone, or read or copy any message from any telegraph, telephone line, wire, cable, computer program or system, or telephone or other electronic medium of communication or prevent, obstruct, or delay the sending of a communication.

Minnesota H.B. 2656
Status: June 1, 2006; Filed with Secretary of State. Chapter No. 260
Regulates, among other things,  computer crimes.

Rhode Island  H.B. 6811
Status: July 14, 2006; Public Law No. 2006-583
Makes it illegal modify another person's computer settings, take control of another's computer, and make deceptive sales of software; provide for a civil action for violations; relates to advertisements, fraudulent statements, personal information, debit and credit card numbers and payment histories.

Rhode Island H.B. 6838
Status: July 14, 2006; Public Law No. 2006-628
Creates protection to consumers from electronic mail fraud; provides that any person violated may bring an action for damages.

Rhode Island H.B. 7526 / S.B. 2404
Status: July 7, 2006; Public Law No. 2006-461
Includes the copying of data within the crime of computer theft and provides specific criminal penalties for computer trespass.

Tennessee H.B. 3212
Status: June 2, 2006; Public Chaptered. Chapter No. 809
Specifies that the unauthorized use of an unsecured Internet network is not a criminal offense.
