Things I look for in an XML Editor

• Validation of structure and content
• On-screen styling/formatting of elements
  • Format conveys meaning and helps typists find areas of interest
  • Formatting on-screen similar to formatting in print-out makes editing of corrections from proofers much easier
  • The richer the better, unless it degrades performance
• Some kind of macro language/API
• Some way to quickly select an element and its tags
• Split element function
• Ctrl-Z/Undo
