Burgeoning Internet commerce and its potential for undermining sales
taxes is one of the greatest challenges facing state and local governments
today. The U.S. Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce, the group advising

issue and looking at ways to close the divide between technology "haves"
and "have-nots."
