This database contains summaries of election reform bills introduced in the 50 states during the 2001-2005 legislative sessions. It also includes data for some states for 2006.  Data entry was discontinued in 2006.  You may search the bills by state, category, status, years, or using your own search terms.

Status of the Database

The bill data for 2001-2006 is final.  Data entry ceased in 2006 and will not be continued until 2007.

Tracking Selected Issues

NCSL continues to track legislation on a handful of elections-related issues.  These are:

  • changing presidential primary dates
  • the Electoral College
  • robo-calls
  • voter ID
  • voter-verified paper and audit trails
