Steve Taylor
A lifelong New Hampshire resident who is a farmer and a writer. He has been a newspaper reporter and editor and served for a quarter century as New Hampshire's commissioner of agriculture. He is also a student of New Hampshire's quirky culture, politics and manner of speaking.
Senator Bob Odell, R-Lempster
Sen. Bob Odell was elected to the New Hampshire Senate in November 2002.
Previous to his election to the Senate, he served as a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives for one term. Odell is Chairman of Ways and Means, a member of the Energy, Environment and Economic Development Committee, and the Finance Committee. The senator is a graduate of American University. He resides in Lempster with his wife, Sandy. The Senator is also the NH liaison to the National Lincoln Bicentennial Commission.
Virginia Drew
Director of the Visitor Center since 2006 and her duties include scheduling and giving tours of the State House. The tours vary from educational student tours that teach the legislative process, historical, architectural tours, art and portraiture tours, and general interest tourist tours. She has worked in the Visitor Center since 2000, and prior to that worked in education. Virginia also serves as the clerk of the Joint Legislative Historical Committee and is active in local historical associations. Virginia is a life long resident of NH and graduate of UNH. She also manages the State House Gift Shop and maintains historic records and displays of the capital and NH History.
Dennis T. Martino
Director of the NH Bureau of Education and Training, He is also an adjunct professor at Springfield College School of Human Services, where he teaches graduate, Leadership and Organizational change courses, and Undergraduate Research Methods. Prior to his current academic work he had twenty-one years experience in Labor Relations as a union advocate and contract negotiator. He is a resident of Hopkinton NH
Dawn M. Wivel
As the State International Trade Director, Dawn Wivell is the Director of the New Hampshire Office of International Commerce and of the New Hampshire International Trade Resource Center. She is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring all state international trade related programs, strategies and activities. Ms. Wivell is also responsible for the management of the State's International Trade Resource Center, which opened in December of 1992. The Center houses OIC, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. Export-Import Bank, the international training arm of Southern New Hampshire University, the Food Export USA program, and the New Hampshire International Trade Association. Ms. Wivell was hired by the Department of Resources and Economic Development in 1990 to establish and develop the State of New Hampshire's first international trade program.
Mark Furlone
After graduating from the University of New Hampshire, Mark joined the New Hampshire State Police and attained the rank of Major. Mark is also a graduate of the 157th FBI National Academy. Mark retired after 29.5 years with NHSP. He became the Security Director at the Speedway in 2005.
Kristen Caisse
Kristen has been in the Health and Wellness field for 12 years having worked in commerical fitness, corporate fitness, as well as workplace wellness and health education. Kristen holds degrees in both Business Management as well as Exercise Science and is a Certified Personal Trainer as well as Certified Group Fitness Instructor. Kristen comes to you from the New Hampshire Local Government Center where she works as a Health Management Representative. Her job takes her all over the state of NH providing Health Management Programs & Health Education to Local Government Center Health Trust covered members and member groups.
Ray Burke
After graduating from the University of New Hampshire, Ray joined the Laconia (NH) Police Department. After serving three years, Ray became a member of the New Hampshire State Police attaining the rank of Captain. Ray retired after thirty years in police work. He worked at the Speedway since 2005 and now serves as Assistant Security Director.
Doug Dolcino
Director of the N.H. General Court Legislative Operations, a joint legislative office responsible for a wide variety of facility services including refurbishment and renovation projects, cleaning services, furniture and office supply procurement, telecommunications upgrades and routine maintenance oversight. He was appointed to the position in 2003 and also serves as the liaison to Administrative Services Bureau of General Services, the executive branch office charged with the facilities/communications management of most state buildings including the Legislative Office Building, State House and Upham Walker House.
Major Robert B. Stafford, Jr.
The Assistant Director for the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council since October of 2004. Major Stafford began his law enforcement career as a part-time Conservation Officer. A graduate of the Vermont and New Hampshire Academies and the FBI National Academy, he instructs at the New Hampshire Police and Corrections Academies. After spending 10 years with the Vermont State Police, Major Stafford became the Manager of Claims, Safety and Police Services for the Canadian National Railway’s New England subsidiary. He has served as Police Chief in Milton, Vermont and Hillsborough, New Hampshire
Jim Van Dongen
Jim first came to New Hampshire in 1984 as news director for New Hampshire Public Radio. He also served as staff writer and Bureau Chief for the Concord Bureau of United Press International. From 1991 to 1996 he was the House Information Officer for the New Hampshire House of Representatives. He is currently Public Information Officer for the NH Department of Safety and the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management. Mr. Van Dongen received his BA degree from Thiel College and MA from Ohio University.
Michael Balboni – Deputy Secretary for Public Safety
Michael Balboni was appointed Deputy Secretary for Public Safety in January 2007. Mr. Balboni is the administration’s senior homeland security and law enforcement official. A sampling of the state agencies which report to him are: Office of Homeland Security, Division of State Police, Division of Military and Naval Affairs, Department of Correctional Services, Division of Criminal Justice Services, and the State Emergency Management Office. Prior to accepting this appointment, Michael Balboni represented the 7th Senate District, located in Nassau County, since 1997. Previously he served in the State Assembly for eight years. In March 2004, then-federal Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge appointed then-Senator Balboni to a national Task Force that examined the flow of homeland security dollars from the federal government to local communities.
Senator Richard T. Moore, MA
Senator Richard T. Moore was first elected to the Massachusetts Senate in 1996 to represent the Southern Worcester County Area of Central Massachusetts. Currently, he serves as Chairman of the Joint Committee on Health Care Financing. Prior to his election to the Senate, he was a nine-term member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. In 1994, President Clinton nominated Sen. Moore to serve as Associate Director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in Washington D.C. He was subsequently confirmed by the U.S. Senate and served in the Clinton Administration for two years where he led successful efforts to develop a National Mitigation Strategy – a comprehensive, nationwide plan to help individuals, communities, and states reduce the risk of disaster from natural and technological hazards. For his efforts, Senator Moore was presented with the "Distinguished Service Award,” FEMA's highest award.
Randy Joyner
Randy Joyner is the Chief of The Protective Services Unit for The New Hampshire General Court. In this position, Randy is responsible for overseeing a team of Security Officers and providing all aspects of Security for the House of Representatives, the Senate and their employees. Randy has more than 13 years of experience in the security field.
Mike Jones
Mike Jones, an internationally respected law enforcement leader, director of the Site Security Consulting Group at the firm of William H. Gordon Associates Inc in Chantilly, VA. Mike recently retired from the Virginia Capitol Police as Interim Chief of Police after serving 30 years as a police officer with the Virginia Capitol Police, the Virginia Commonwealth University Police and the Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office. Mike currently serves as a member of the adjunct faculty cadre for Virginia Commonwealth University School of Government and Public Affairs and the National Criminal Justice Command College of the University of Virginia. Mike also is a member of the Critical Incident Analysis Group (CIAG) at the University of Virginia.
