Arkansas	July 7, 2008	Ballot certified by September 15, 2008
California	July 23, 2007	For Feb. 5, 2008 presidential primary
	November 13, 2007	For June 3, 2008 state primary
	April 21, 2008	For Nov. 4, 2008 general election
Colorado	August 4, 2008 at 3pm	Latest possible filing date; some petitions will have earlier deadlines
Florida	February 1, 2008	Date that petitions are submitted to SOS by local supervisors of elections; must be submitted earlier to local authorities for signature verification.
Idaho	May 1, 2008	Last day to submit signatures to county clerks; clerks' last day to verify is June 30
Illinois	May 4, 2008
Maine	January 28, 2008
Massachusetts	November 21, 2007	For submission to the 2008 legislature; additional signatures due in July 2008 if the legislature fails to enact
	July 2, 2008 at 5pm
Michigan	May 28, 2008 at 5pm	For statutory initiatives
	July 7, 2008 at 5pm	For initiated constitutional amendments
Mississippi	October 8, 2007	90 days before the legislature convenes
Missouri	May 4, 2008 at 5pm
Montana	June 20, 2008	Local election officials must submit to SOS by July 18, 2008

Nevada	November 14, 2006	For statutory initiatives submitted to the 2007 Legislature
	May 20, 2008	For initiated constitutional amendments
North Dakota	March 11, 2008 at midnight	For June xx, 2008 primary election
	August 5, 2008 at midnight	For Nov. 4, 2008 general election
Ohio	December 28, 2007	For statutory initiatives; to be submitted to 2008 legislature
	August 6, 2008	For initiated constitutional amendments
Oklahoma	September 5, 2008	Note that the state recommends submission 8 months prior to the election in order to allow time for required court review.

South Dakota	November 5, 2007	For initiated constitutional amendments

Utah	November 15, 2007	For an indirect initiative to the 2008 legislature
