RE: ASLCS Spring Business Meeting
____________________________________________________________________________
The next meeting planned for Society business is the ASLCS Spring Meeting in Columbus, Ohio scheduled for March 14-16, 2003. This is a traditional working meeting that includes only the convening of the Executive Committee and individual committee meetings.
HOTEL RESERVATIONS
A block of rooms for meeting attendees has been reserved at the DoubleTree Guest Suites, 50 Front Street. Each attendee is responsible for making his/her own hotel and travel arrangements. The phone number for the DoubleTree is 614/228-4600. When arranging hotel accommodations, please indicate that you are attending the ASLCS conference to receive the special room rate of $109.00 per night (tax not included).
Reservations must be held by one night's room deposit (a major credit card guarantee is acceptable). The deadline for making hotel reservations is FEBRUARY, 27, 2003. After this date, reservations will be accepted at the conference rate based on availability. Cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to arrival to receive a full refund.
The hotel does not provide a shuttle to and from the airport, but there several fee based transportation options:
- The hotel provides a car service that is available for airport pick-up, $20.00 per trip, after 5pm, $25.00 per trip. The price is fixed, whether the car contains one person or five people. Reservations for this service are made directly through the hotel.
- Cabs are available at the airport for about $20.00 to the hotel.
- COTA, Central Ohio Transit Authority has a shuttle that runs from the airport to all the major downtown hotels. This shuttle runs every hour on the hour and costs $5.00. It takes about 30mins to get to the hotel and makes several stops at other hotels before the DoubleTree. You can pick it up at the airport on the level where the rental car shuttles are located.
