RE: ASLCS Spring Business Meeting

The 2007 ASLCS Spring Meeting will be held in Chicago, Illinois, March 30 to April 1. The Spring Meeting will be a traditional working meeting at which the Executive Committee and ASLCS Committees will meet to continue their work for the year. Click here for the preliminary agenda.

HOTEL RESERVATIONS

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Swissotel Chicago, 323 East Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL 60601-9722. Each attendee is responsible for making his/her own hotel and travel arrangements. The phone number for the Swissotel is (312) 565-0565. When arranging hotel accommodations, please indicate that you are attending the ASLCS Spring Meeting to receive the special room rate of $189 single/ $209 double per night (excluding tax). The cut-off date to receive the conference rate is Friday, March 2, 2007.

Reservations must be held by a major credit card guarantee. All room cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to the arrival date or you will be charged. For more information about the Swissotel Chicago visit http://chicago.swissotel.com/z841/index.shtml.

TRANSPORTATION

The Swissotel Chicago is approximately 30 minutes from Midway Airport and 30 to 45 minutes from O'Hare International Airport. Cabs are available at both airports. Driving directions from both airports to the Swissotel can be found on the hotel's website http://chicago.swissotel.com/z841/map.html.

The hotel has provided the following shuttle information.

To the hotel from the airport: Continental Airport Express provides shuttle service & airport service for guests of the major hotels. The shuttle may be picked up curbside at both O’ Hare & Midway Airports. Tickets should be purchased prior to boarding at the booth counter located by luggage claims at Airports. They depart regularly from both airports, pending full vans.

From the hotel to the airport: The shuttle going to O’Hare picks up at the Swissotel every 30 minutes. January through March calls needs to be made in advance of a schedule pick up. Shuttles to Midway need to be pre-arranged. Please contact the Concierge at least 4 hours prior to the flights departure at ext. 5425 to make reservations.

Prices are as follows: O’Hare: one-way $25; round trip $46. Midway: one-way $20; round trip $36.
