RE: ASLCS Spring Business Meeting
The 2006 ASLCS Spring Meeting will be held in Little Rock, Arkansas, March 31 to April 2. The Spring Meeting will be a traditional working meeting at which the Executive Committee and ASLCS Committees will meet to continue their work for the year. To view a preliminary agenda click here.
HOTEL RESERVATIONS
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Peabody Hotel, Three Statehouse Plaza, Little Rock, AR 72201. Each attendee is responsible for making his/her own hotel and travel arrangements. The phone number for the Peabody Little Rock is (501) 906-4000. When arranging hotel accommodations, please indicate that you are attending the ASLCS conference to receive the special room rate of $119.00 per night (excluding tax). This rate will be honored for three days prior to and three days following the meeting dates, per hotel availability. The cut-off date to receive the conference rate is Friday, March 3, 2006.
Reservations must be held by one night's room deposit (a major credit card guarantee is acceptable). All room cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to the arrival date or you will be charged. For more information about the Peabody Little Rock visit http://www.peabodylittlerock.com/home.cfm.
TRANSPORTATION
The Peabody Hotel is approximately a 15 to 20 minute drive from Little Rock National Airport. The Peabody offers a free shuttle service to and from the airport. Call (501) 906-4000 to arrange for pickup prior to or upon airport arrival. The shuttle arrives in the parking lot closest to baggage claim, at the south end of the terminal, in the same area where public transportation and taxis are found. The shuttle has an orange Peabody Hotel logo on the back of the van. To take the shuttle from the hotel to the airport, contact the front desk or guest services.
Taxis can be found at the airport and in front of the hotel at almost all times. Call (501) 570-9999 for the hotel's suggested taxi service. Other taxi and shuttle service numbers can be found on the Little Rock National Airport website, at http://www.lrn-airport.com/ground_trans/. If you will have a car in Little Rock and need directions, or would like information on limousine or special needs transportation, please contact Natalie O'Donnell at NCSL.
CONFERENCE REGISTRATION
There is no fee to attend the spring meeting, but in order to provide all attendees with information please complete the attached registration form and return it to Natalie O’Donnell by Friday, March 17, 2006.
