The Effect of Term Limits in the 2006 Elections

April 6, 2006

Term limits will prevent a total of 268 legislators in 13 states from running for re-election in the 2006 elections.  The hardest hit chambers will be the Nebraska Senate (losing 41% of its membership), the California House (losing 33% of its membership), the California Senate (losing 30% of its membership), and the Arkansas House (losing 29% of its membership).
