This teleconference will examine legislative involvement in establishing standards of service for workforce development staff.  To ensure quality service to their customers and promote efficient spending of  public funds committed to workforce investment, a growing number of states have established standard expectations of competency for staff.  Presenters will explore best practices of mandated competency areas for Workforce Development Staff.  Key questions include: What are the standards of service and how are they certified, administered and enforced?  How can legislators become involved to ensure accountability of public spending?
